
Dr. Julie McCoy
Dr. Julie McCoy was born and raised on her family farm in St. Paul, Kansas and had an active role in caring for animals from a young age. She was involved in 4-H Club and enjoyed showcasing her passion for agriculture and animal husbandry. Dr. McCoy received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Wichita State University. Then she went on to Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her doctorate in 2014.
After graduation, Dr. McCoy worked in a mixed animal practice in Hutchinson, Kansas but eventually made the decision to provide relief services to the greater Wichita area. Dr. McCoy joined the Sweetbriar team in 2023 as a part-time relief veterinarian.We are thrilled to have Dr. McCoy’s skills and services at Sweetbriar Veterinary Clinic. She has made a great addition to our team of skilled veterinarians. Her interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery and providing preventative care to dogs and cats.
Dr. McCoy and her husband have two children, Lucas and Ella. They also have a small “farm” of their own including a horse, 3 mini-horses, chickens and two dachshunds named Scooter (15) and Cheddar (13). In her free time, Dr. McCoy enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and doing home projects.
