Melissa

Veterinary Technician

Melissa is a veterinary technician and has been with our team since 2021. Melissa has a passion for emergency and critical care and was previously a paramedic for human patients. Because of her lifelong love of animals, she made the switch to veterinary medicine. In her veterinary career, Melissa enjoys emergencies and surgery as well as taking care of patients in the hospital and seeing them go home healthy to their owners. Her future career goals include going to veterinary school at Kansas State University and becoming a veterinarian herself! Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, painting, and reading. Her own pets include a Siberian Husky Mix named Mika (6), a Siberian Husky named Maya (4) and a German Shepherd Mix, Dobby (2), who Melissa is fostering.

Alondra

Veterinary Receptionist

Alondra is a veterinary receptionist and has been with our team since 2022. Alondra’s commitment to helping others makes her excited to come to work every day. Her favorite part of her job is being able to learn new things, help others in their time of need, and be able to positively impact others. Alondra is currently achieving her goal to complete her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and hopes to one day be able to use this degree in her future career or own her own business. When she isn’t at work or school, Alondra enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and family and traveling. Her own pets include two toy poodles named Benny (4) and Nube (2) and a Siberian Husky named Cheke (6).

Alivia

Alivia is a veterinary technician and has been with our team since 2022. Alivia’s love for animals has made this career an easy choice and one of her passions is being able to educate clients about their pet’s health. She loves to connect with people and their pets and make their vet visits as positive as possible. Her passions at work include helping with surgeries, emergency care, and taking care of hospitalized patients that need extra attention. Her future career goals involve the medical field, although she is unsure whether this will be the veterinary field or another area where she can use her compassion for others. Outside of work, Alivia enjoys playing her guitar, making art projects, and trying new things! Her own pet, Leo, a Great Pyrenese mix (4), frequents our clinic and you may see him at your next visit! He’s a sweetheart!

McKynzi

McKynzi is a veterinary assistant and has been with our team since 2024. McKynzi’s passion for caring for animals has made the transition into veterinary care an easy one. Prior to her career at Sweetbriar, McKynzi helped to care for puppies and has worked for a doggie daycare. The transition to veterinary care has been an easy one as McKynzi loves to be a soothing presence for sick animals and loves to see people’s faces light up when they can take their healed pets home. Her interests in the veterinary field include learning more about surgery and helping with anesthesia. In the future, McKynzi would love to continue working in the veterinary field and maybe one day become a veterinary technician. In her free time, McKynzi loves to spend time with her family and cuddle her 3 dogs, a Goldendoodle named Millie (2), a Shiba Inu named Doge (2), and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Niko (1).

Zeida

Zeida is a veterinary receptionist and has been with our team since 2021. Zeida has always had a compassionate nature and one of the things she loves most about her work is connecting with people and their pets. She loves to be a part of a pet’s journey from puppyhood or kittenhood to adulthood and beyond. Zeida enjoys learning about veterinary medicine everyday. From nutrition, to preventative care, to surgery, Zeida plans to continue her knowledge to be able to educate others. In the future, Zeida is sure that she will continue to have a career helping others and instilling positivity every day. Outside of work, Zeida enjoys spending time with her family, trying new activities and restaurants and traveling as well as cuddling with her Golden Retriever, Kiki (2).
